Indication

Nidcor (Metformin HCl) is used to lower abnormally high blood glucose (sugar) levels in patients with diabetes
mellitus type 2, whose blood sugar levels cannot be adequately controlled by diet or exercise alone. Metformin
is the drug of first choice in overweight patients.
- Nidcor tablet (Metformin HCl) may be used alone or in conjunction with sulfonylurea drugs or insulin.
- May be used in patients with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), which is the most common cause
of infertility among women in the United States is associated with insulin resistance, hyperlipidemia
and obesity.
